How-to: Add Quick Launch back to the Taskbar in Windows 7

I for one like the new taskbar in Windows 7. However, if you are really attached to the taskbar from previous Windows versions... there is a fix for you! You can quickly add the old Quick Launch toolbar to your existing Windows 7 taskbar. We will show you how!

Start by right clicking a blank spot on the taskbar and choosing Toolbars --->New toolbar...

Next you want type the folder location, %appdata%\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch, as shown.

Make sure the location is put in correctly and Quick Launch appears at the bottom at Folder, if not type it in. Then click Select Folder

Right click the taskbar again and make sure that Lock the toolbar is unchecked. The Quick Launch toolbar should now be on the right side of your existing taskbar. You can drag it around and place it where you like.

If you like the simple look of the Windows XP Quick Launch bar you can right click on the new bar, and uncheck Show Text and Show title for a cleaner look. Re-lock the taskbar and your set!

I hope you found this How-to useful! Good Luck!
